Quick answers
Q01 Can I lock into a fixed rate for my gas bill?
Rocky Gas doesn't offer a fixed rate for your natural gas purchase. Gas Alberta does the purchasing and trading on behalf of all gas co-ops in the province, working to buy natural gas at the best possible price.
Q02 Why is my stove flame orange?
Running an ultrasonic or cool-mist humidifier — especially with mineral-rich tap water — releases microscopic particles into the air, and when those minerals hit the flame they burn orange. A lazy yellow flame, by contrast, signals improper combustion: have the appliance serviced or inspected by a qualified technician promptly.
Q03 Why do you change my gas meter?
Under the federal Electricity and Gas Inspection Act, every natural gas meter has a certified legal lifespan. Because meters can gradually lose calibration and measure too fast or too slow, Measurement Canada requires distributors to follow strict meter-replacement schedules — keeping bills accurate and fair.
